
Gresini Racing will go back to 2022 MotoGP being an Independent MotoGP Team with Ducati because the manufacturer of choice.
Team Gresini also confirmed the full Italian line-up for next season with Fabio Di Giannantonio (Federal Oil Gresini Moto2) and Enea Bastianini (Avintia Esponsorama) because the main rider.
The agreement might find Team Gresini will compete within the 2022 and 2023 MotoGP season with a Desmosedici machine.
According to Gigi Dall’Igna, Ducati Corse Gm, the possible agreement was met after this past year with (now deceased) Fausto Gresini.
“We're incredibly pleased to reach this agreement with Gresini Racing for the following two MotoGP seasons. We'd laid on the foundations of the possible agreement with Fausto already at the end of this past year and we'd like to thank – from the bottom in our hearts – his family for carrying this project forward around.
“Gresini Racing has been a particularly important institution in MotoGP for many years and we are confident this partnership, which can rely on two very talented riders for example Enea and Fabio, will be of great satisfaction for those parties involved,” he said.
Meanwhile, Nadia Padovani, Team Principal as well as who owns Gresini Racing, expressed her gratitude towards Ducati.
“It's a very emotional moment for every of us. In previous months, our efforts merged with a strong emotional push to shape the way forward for Gresini Racing, and now are immensely proud and pleased to result in the official announcement. It is a project born from continuity and based on values where Fausto built this unique institution.
“My thank you goes first of all to Carmelo Ezpeleta to make sure we never felt alone over these months, to Ducati for trusting our projects, to Flex-Box who joined us within this new challenge as title sponsor and clearly to Fabio and Enea: I'm sure they'll give their finest to wave the Gresini Racing banner high.”
