After 3 decades of racing, TT legend John McGuinness has finally been recognised with an MBE (Person in probably the most Excellent Order from the British Empire) for his massive success in the realm of road racing. So, not quite a 'Datuk', but around the same level in the united kingdom (we guess).

The 'Morecombe Missile' was named in the 2021 New Year's Honours list because of his great success in events such as the legendary Isle of individual TT. With the second-most wins to date (23 wins), John McGuinness definitely deserves this MBE considering what he had to go through after his major injury a few years back.

According to McGuinness himself inside a Twitter post, \”Well I'm speechless at least! Unbelievable response all you guys, amazing! Been reading all of the messages this means so much, wish I could answer all of you. Huge thanks to everybody which has achieved it. 30 years of racing, the icing on the cake an MBE.\”

He's only three wins off to connect his record with Joey Dunlop (26 TT wins), but he'll only be in a position to attempt that in 2022. As some of you might have already heard, the 2021 Isle of Man TT event has been cancelled because of rising concerns for COVID-19. And the new strain in the united kingdom isn't helping at all.
