Nissan has entered a car in the Twelve,000 mile Mongol Rally that will span the gap from the UK to be able to Mongolia this summer. The car would be the Leaf AT-EV meaning all landscapes electric vehicle. The vehicle is based on a normal 31 kWh Leaf Acenta car with up to One hundred fifty five miles of cruising range on a single demand. The car has been improved to survive the journey.
Modifications include special added wheels and narrow wheels for work on unsealed paths. The underside of the car has lots of welded plated to protect key pieces and a sump guard. I wonder just how far it will make it on the charge in the rough terrain and with the additional lighting.
