They say roadsters can bring everyone joy, but just after experiencing the Mercedes-Benz SLC 300 on the twisties of Cameron Highlands I’m certain ‘joy’ is the wrong phrase. It’s not ‘pleasure’ frequently. In fact, I’m unsure if a word may be invented to describe just what a roadster like the SLC gives you, however, if I had to break the idea down into its basic ingredients it would are made mostly of excitement,?freedom and Vitamins D.

But there’s something more productive that Mercedes enhances the mix. Having that 3-pointed star glisten in the daylight elevates the whole working experience. The SLC reminds us why Mercedes-Benz continues to define prestige and deluxe. The roof is straight down, but no one can feel you – that’s the sense you get in one for these.

Ever since Mercedes-Benz introduced a SLK in the late 90s, his or her approach to the roadster is a huge practical one. Even though other roadsters seem to miss their market – being either too expensive with the target market or not stylish enough for aficionados – the Benz approach is definitely about the top-down experience in an accurate Benz.

It’s luxurious, filled with expensive features and its 245hp/370Nm 2-litre motor is more compared to capable of delivering some authentic fun. Paired into a 9-speed automatic, it’s also quite fuel-efficient when influenced with a light feet. This makes the SLC a fantastic all-rounder?as most people will should you prefer a leisurely cruise while using the roof down rather then an all-out assault with corners.

And while a large V8 is not present, you can still get from 0-100km/h in under 7 seconds. Plus, you will enjoy Magic Sky Regulate for when it’s rainy outside and you’actu not able to get the top-down knowledge you paid for. By using a press of a button, a glass panel for the hard top straight away goes from tinted to clear.

Plus, roadster buyers looking for all of the experience still get Miraculous Sky Control for whenever it’s raining. Which includes a press of a button, a glass panel on the hard top instantaneously goes from tinted to clear.

The boot isn’t small either. We were competent to accommodate luggage to get 3 in the start and still get the top down. Note this shelf below the creased / folded roof – you can stack about double the amount of luggage if you’re wanting to drive with a rooftop over your head throughout your vacation.
All-in-all, we felt any SLC 300 was a logically thought-out roadster. While most automotive editors would agree the MX-5 is all you need, we will have to admit that the costs and gearbox in it just doesn’t find a way to suit the target audience. But if you’re any Benz owner (and there are lots of those in Malaysia) looking for gazes from the public, you actually won’t go wrong basic in your garage.
