While Malaysian rider Mohd Zaqhwan Zaidi dominated a proceedings in the primary day of pre-season tests to the 2017 FIM Asia Road Race Championship, it was Chinese rider Decha Kraisart who came close to setting a different benchmark for the SuperSports 600cc type at the Johor Circuit. Any Yamaha Thailand Racing rider uncovered his rhythm inside closing sessions within the two-day practice and clocked the swiftest time of the class, 01’31.051s.

36-year-old Decha, who has been the SuperSports 600cc champion during 2007 and 2017, shows no sign of scaling down. Having just won subsequent place in the recent Planet SuperSports Championship race inside Thailand as a wildcard last weekend, Decha influences hunt for his third Asian trophy.

“Our effort got off to a gradual start last year. You’ll come to the Johor Circuit within Pasir Gudang, I was only able to finish 12th inside Race 2 along with suffered a DNF in Ethnic background 1. But our company is able to overcome our own problems in the other half of the 2017 season and i am hoping to score significant points when the time of year kicks off in two weeks’ period,” said Decha.

Team Yamaha Thailand Racing was equally robust in the Asia Output 250cc. With defending successful Apiwat Wongthananon jetting off to use the Spanish Championship this current year, Anupab Sarmoon proved himself a great able replacement while he logged the fastest amount of 01’43.469s. Anupab’s best time has become the brand new lap record for your Johor Circuit, smashing Apiwat’s former laptime of 01’44.959s by over the second. Indonesians Rheza Danica Ahrens and Gerry Salim, each from team Astra Honda Racing, clocked the second along with third fastest amount of the session astride their particular brand new Honda CBR250RR. Starter Rheza posted 01’43.536s ahead of Gerry’s 01’44.432s.

In this Underbone 150cc category, it was a great all-Malaysian affair at the top conclusion of the timesheets. Team RCB Motobatt Yamaha YY Pang pair Mohd Azhar Abdul Jalil and Tengku Amirul Haffiruddin led the proceedings with times of 01’48.907s and 01’49.127s respectively. Rookie rider Mohd Helmi Azman, representing arriving team TKKR Onexox Racing, has been third fastest along with 01’49.251s.
