The Tesla Model 3 might not exactly even be available just yet, but Tesla is already going down the road to what’verts next. Tesla teased a new all-electric compact SUV on its shareholder achieving called the Model Y simply. Tesla will make the Unit Y on a fresh platform, it was originally planned to be made on the Model 3 podium.
The teaser shot doesn’big t show much around the car, but the full design should get there about a year until the 2019-2020 production time frame. That which you can see is that the Type Y lacks area mirrors, something at the moment mandated by professionals in the US.
Tesla had promised to get rid of the 12V battery architecture inside the Model Y. That could mean no lead-acid battery packs and a new electricity method for the technology inside the car. Musk says ditching the old construction means less electrical circuitry in the car and an less complicated production process. Apparently this means a move in order to lithium batteries. A new production line will be built for production lines, but the battery packs are likely to come from Gigafactory 1.
